Our House

Here are the pictures we have so far of our house. It is located in a quiet little neighborhood in South Ogden, close to the country club. We are bit further west than before, so although we still have mountain views (everyone in Utah does) they aren't as close as where we are living now. Our lot is fairly small, but has tons of large trees. So large that they need trimming this spring. Seems like there are lots of large, unkept climbing roses in the back yard, and some bulbs already coming up. It will be a fun surprise to see what comes up! The house was built in 1943, and has two additions making the upstairs (all the livable space) about 1300 sq. ft. The basement has a garage and another 800 ft. of unfinished that we may choose to finish. We'll see...

The kitchen and bathrooms need updating, but are clean and functional for now. Most every house in our price range was like this, but at least this kitchen has more than 3 square feet of counter space! We sign papers Monday and take possession Tuesday. We'll start cleaning then, Nana arrives Wednesday night, and we'll clean/move boxes the rest of the week. We have a truck rented for that Saturday to move furniture. Nana couldn't come at a better time!

I think that's the skinny on the new house. Pretty exciting all around!

PS- We welcome visitors at all times!! We live about 20 miles from the ski resorts where they hosted the SLC olympic ski events! :)

View from across the street looking east towards the mountains. The grass lawn in the distance is part of the country club.

At the bottom of the street.

Horribly outdated kitchen. First project!

Dining nook off the kitchen

Living room, standing in the formal dining room (but no picture of that)

Ty's room

Guest bedroom (don't worry, we are not planning on keeping the purple to torture all our guests!)

Since you'll be away this weekend, WHEN are you going to pack?? Having kids makes life just a little different, huh? Remember your last move when you packed slowly over a few month period? Haha - those were the days. If you need boxes, check out a UHaul store... just popped into one and ended with a carload of boxes - cheap and easy!

Toodles. I will be bummed to miss Vail this weekend.

local liquor stores, especially high volume discount ones, are often a good source of free cardboard boxes
