Happy Thanksgiving!

Hope everyone had a great day! We've had a fun day with our friend Mike over for dinner and Ty enjoying eating alongside us. See the pics below and you'll see the fun too! I tried to take some comparison photos from last year's Thanksgiving day. It is absolutely amazing how much they change in one year! We switched Ty's crib to a toddler bed a few weeks ago and he has been enjoying it. Sometimes we get long stretches of sleep in it, and sometimes we don't. We're just going with it, and he's enjoying his new special bed. I added those photos below, for comparison purposes only. :)

Check out the hair! Or lack there of.

Same bed, different style. Photos taken today.

His bedtime book, Goodnight Gecko.

I don't think it can get any cuter :)

Yummy

Quickly discovered the cranberry sauce on the plate

And used his new spoon skills to shovel cranberry sauce into his mouth for the rest of the meal

Yup, that's my boy!

Boise Visitors

Aileen, Pat, and Barley came down from Boise for the weekend. It was great to see them, and I was again surprised how much puppies grow! We haven't seen Barley since he was about 6 months old, and he is no longer a lanky, skinny pup! We didn't have any repeat hilarious videos, but Ty loved him and Barley was soooo good with him. Bucky and I were talking after they left that he is such a good family dog. He not only tolerates a toddler, but seems to enjoy it. I can't say that our boys always "enjoy" Ty's company! Ty turned on the charm with Aileen and Pat as well. He's very good at giving kisses now, and laid quite a few on them.

Unfortunately most of the photos I took came out way too fuzzy (darn old camera), but I did catch a few keepers. On another note we are finally finishing up with the details of our quest bathroom remodel. I'll post pictures as soon as it's done (maybe two more nights of work?), and we can't wait until we get to that point!

Catching Up

There are two sets of pictures I want to share that are getting a bit out of date, but still needing sharing. Uncle Bill and Aunt Georgine visited with us for an afternoon at the end of September on their way back from Yellowstone. It was great to see them, and they got to meet Ty. The weather was a bit wet but we still managed to go on a walk (and hide under a tree while the heavy rain passed) and go out for a nice dinner.

A few weeks ago Davie and Sophie joined us at a pumpkin patch for an afternoon of fun. We picked some beautiful pumpkins that Bucky and Ty carved for Halloween.

Why am I having more fun than the kids? Sad.

The teeter was a big hit, but hard to keep the kids on.

Time out for a photo opp.

First Big Owie

Every Monday a group of us get together at a local coffee shop for "happy hour". We pretend that it's a playgroup for our kids, but the truth is we all love coffee and chatting. We happily sit and sip coffee, chatting away while our kids have fun. Sounds perfect, right? Well this past Monday's happy hour started out normal, until Ty found the outdoor lights (we sit outside in their seating area). They had never been turned on before while we were there, and I didn't catch him before he put his hands on them to investigate. They were VERY hot and Ty ended up with second degree burns on both hands. One hand only had two small blisters, but the other was burned all along the bottom of his palm.

Almost one week later, I'm happy to report he is healing quickly! The minor hand is no longer wrapped, and today was the first day the other hand looked like it was starting to dry out. It was a rough week with lots of teething that caused a fever and congestion in addition to his hands. I think we're on the upswing now though!

That's about it for us and I have some sad photos to share. Happy leaf raking!

Not thrilled about the day's events.

A few days later, still feeling pretty punky. Bucky decided to wrap his thumbs separate but it didn't seem to help. Luckily the one hand that is now wrapped has all his fingers exposed as the minor blisters on the fingers are doing well.
He has done a lot of resting and sleeping, and frequently goes and lays down in his chair.
A happy moment yesterday when he modeled Bucky's hat.

Damn Teeth

Yes that's right. I just said damn. Some of my friends' kids don't seem bothered one bit by teething. Suddenly they just have another tooth in their mouth! That did happen to us once, but for the most part I know exactly when Ty has started and stopped feeling teething pain. He has been an early teether with his first tooth pushing through at five months and three days old. Ty has been working on his molars for about two months now, and now the canines are deciding to join in the fun. I'm glad all the teeth are deciding to come through at once so we can have a break before the two-year molars, but man-oh-man is my sweet little monkey cranky! Luckily Ty is now book obsessed and generally easily distractable with a little effort. As of today Ty has eleven teeth!! Two molars have pushed the outer cusps through the gum and one canine has broken through. Woohoo, only five more to go! :) Here's to some fabulous nights of sleep when this is all through!

A typical pose.

Like I said, easily distractable! If you blow up the photo (click on it) you can see his bulging gums and some spinach stuck in his teeth! Yummy pesto spinach pizza.
