Having a Blast

After two days of traveling, we made it to the Bahamas on Wednesday. Tues. we flew to Miami and stayed the night, then met Nana and Granddad there Wednesday to fly to Georgetown. The island is gorgeous, and the weather has been perfect. Ty LOVES the water (GA, he's kicking around like a pro! Even trying to paddle a bit) and ADORES playing the sand. He seems to want to "sample" sand from every beach. What is it with kids and eating sand? Is it the salt?

The wedding is tonight, and we are all so happy for Beth and Mike. We have a snorkeling outing planning for this afternoon at a neighboring island, then the wedding is at 5 PM. More pics to come, but lots more pictures on their blog.

PS- Sorry about the horrible layout. Blogger is being VERY annoying today.

We've been taking lots of walks.

Bahamas Bound!

We're off to the Bahamas tomorrow morning for Beth and Mike's wedding! If you want to follow along on all the fun in the sun, they have started a blog. The link is on the right, on my blog list. We're very excited to soak up some sun, and I can't wait to see Ty's reaction to sand and ocean. I've got a million things to pack and do before we leave so I will just leave you with one photo...Ty practicing for the Bahamas. He and Bucky are splashing me from the shower and having a grand time of it. My husband will have my head if he finds out I posted this, so shhhh!

I know...

Lately there have been quite a few things Ty has done to confirm (as if there was any question?!) that Ty is our child. He LOVES blue cheese. We even had the strongest blue cheese I have ever had last week and he kept asking for more. What kid likes blue cheese? He also loves parmesan, romano and all those hard strong types. Bucky and I are like little mice. We could eat cheese all day. Ty fits right in.

Last night Ty took a piece of cardboard packaging and walked right over to the recycling and dropped it in. That's my boy!

And last (for now), but certainly not least, I know Ty is ours because he looks so darn cute in the sweater I knit him!!! This is my first sweater, and it's called the Wonderful Wallaby. It has a pocket (hence the wallaby) and hoodie. I really think I'm going to put him in it once a week until he outgrows it, since I knit it. :)

Yesterday we went to the much anticipated Walking with Dinosaurs show in SLC. They have 15 "life size" animatronic dinosaurs. The T-Rex and Brachiosaurus were incredible! Ty has been very into his stuffed dinos lately, so of course all week we have been talking about dinos and he just runs for them every morning. "Dino, Dino!!" He didn't stop pointing, giggling, or yelling "dino" for the entire hour and fifteen minute show. It really was an impressive experience.

Waiting for the dinos
All of our pictures barely came out with the darkness. This is about as good as it gets in picture quality for us. The Stegosaurus is on the right. You can also see the host in the center, to get some perspective on the size.

More Cows

Photos that Rachel took on another visit to the dairy. It was almost feeding time so the calves were VERY social!

Nice view!

We thought she was the prettiest

Snowshoeing

Rachel came to visit us the week after we got back from Pennsylvania, and we had a grand time. She and Bucky went up snowboarding a few nights, and we had a chance to do some snowshoeing with my friend's Jenn and Pete. The mountains are gorgeous this time of year. Always picture perfect. I had a chance to go for another snowshoe up at Snowbasin while Rachel snowboarded. Many of the nordic trails there are very groomed, and I can't wait to take Ty up there on his sled. We just have to wait for both the Chicken Pox and a stomach flu to leave his system. :) Hope everyone isn't too snowed in!

The ridge line that I snowshoed on...it was snowing so most of the mountains were clouded in.

Such a funny face Rachel captured. He looks like a little elf!

Christmas Pics

Sometimes it amazes me how few pictures I take. I posted the good ones below and hopefully will add captions tomorrow. As for Ty, we're pretty positive he has chicken pox and is just having a very minor reaction. Hopefully it is good enough for a proper immune response! Guess I shouldn't complain since he isn't acting sick. :)

Does Ty...

have the chicken pox? These photos are for Nana, and anyone else who has a guess. My friend's kids have come down with it, and Ty was exposed just long enough ago to come down with it. The weird thing is he only has two pox and today is the start of day three since the first pox arrived. I'm a bit worried he is getting only a small reaction since he is breastfeeding, and he won't get a big enough immunity to the "disease". Fingers crossed! We'll keep you all posted...
